I want to do key learning on my VW Sharan 2012 ID48-A1. Which Xtool key programmer can do it?

The car model belongs to 4th Immobilizer system. For VW 4th and 5th immobilizer, you should use the following devices.

XTOOL X100 PAD2 Pro (comes with KC100 adapter)

XTOOL X100 PAD3 (comes with KC100 adapter)

XTOOL X100 PAD3 SE and adapter (optional)

Note: Because x100 pad key programmer is not compatible with kc100 adapter, so it cannot support the function.

How to Use KC100 with X100 PAD2/X100 PAD3/X100 PAD3 SE for 4th and 5th immobilizer:

Let’s take X100 PAD3 as an example. Since VW 4th and 5th Immo programming needs online programming, please make sure X100 PAD3 connect Internet before doing programming.

Operation steps:
1.Use the main cable and OBDII connector (or other relative connector) to connect between X100PAD3 and your car’s OBD port
2.Use USB to mini USB cable to connect between X100PAD3 and KC100
3.Switch ignition on position, then enter software as following steps:
Immobilization>> VW>> 4th/5th Immobilizer System

4.If your car is 4th immobilizer system, please click 4th immobilizer system.

If your car is 5th immobilizer system, please click 5th immobilizer system.

It will detect your meter type automatically, if it does not detect successfully, you can choose your meter type manually.

5.Then follow the instructions that software reminds you to copy new keys

Here share with you some useful tips and knowledge when talking about BMW Coding and BMW Programming by ISTA Rheingold!

Q: Is it safe to update software with ISTA on all BMW’s that come through my shop ? What problems can I run into? (assuming I have a good power supply for car and laptop)
A: Depends on many factors, but as long as you use a good ICOM and a good power supply, you should be OK.
Q: Can updates on comfort mode, brick an ECU (or more)?
A: As long as you stick to the proposed measures plan in Comfort Mode and your setup (laptop, software etc.) is solid, there shouldn’t be any opportunity to brick an ECU.
Q: If updates are safe, on what series can I do them ? BMW F, G for sure..can I do E ?
A: F, G and I series and for Motorrad models with vehicle electrical system 2020 (BN2020). E Series programming is not supported in ISTA+, use ISTA/P or WinKFP for individual modules. BMW ENET Cable you may also need.
Q: Updates for Navi maps, can I do them in ISTA also ? Again, is it safe ? Do you recommend E-Sys more for this job ?
A: I have not attempted this with ISTA+, but would assume process is similar to ISTA/P. I’d stick with ESYS strictly for ease of use.
Q: I have an BMW ICOM A2+B+C with ISTA all OK. And I understand that E-Sys is more complex than ISTA, regarding coding and programming for F-Series, as NCSExpert and WINkfp are for E-Series. You can do coding in ISTA also right ? for all series ? Or ISTA does less ?
A: You need to differentiate between coding and “encoding”. ISTA+ will do “encoding” depending on the programming required. That is not the same as coding (features). I don’t think I’d say ESYS is more complicated than ISTA+, each are different in the way they approach coding/programming.

How to use the HHT software in MB STAR C4 C5 to test the old car before 2000 ?
Question:
Many customers reflect that they can’t test Bens car before2000 year after operating MB STAR C4 C5 2017.01.
Many customers report that MB SD Connect C4/C5 2017.01 will not be able to test the Benz before 2000.
Customers had showed us with video and photos :

We found that the newest MB SD Connect C4/C5 2017.01 software can’t test old car before 2000.
HHT software in xentry  and DAS  hasn’t run normally (was canceled), however, Bens cars before 2000 year need HHT software diagnosed.
Case:
The customer use 38PIN connector to diagnose Benz s chassis of 1996 year with MB SD Connect C4.

In order to solve the problem, we give customers the new Benz software which installed HHT diagnostic software. You should double-click the  icon on the computer desktop. as follows:
If you want to test Benz cars before 2000 year, you should connect MB SD Connect C5 C4 to the car, click and open the software.



Choose the vehicle chassis you want o test, then you can diagnose.

Benz Sprinter MB STAR diagnosis PSM Offline SCN coding

Mercedes Benz SCN Coding must be performed if the Sprinter PSM (Parameterizable special module) had not been installed. SCN coding should be applied together with MB Star Diagnostic Tools system.
PSM Coding can be achieved via both online and offline, here is the instruction of offline coding.

Well install Star diagnosis software
Connect MB SD Connect C4 diagnostic system with vehicle
Start DAS program
Run a Quick Test
Come to EIS (electronic ignition starter switch) control unit
Select “Control unit adaptation” and press F3 button
Select “SCN Coding” option
Select “Perform SCN coding”
Select “Offline” menu item (no networked Star Diagnosis device)
Confirm “Determine vehicle data for offline SCN coding from the vehicle” with F3
Fill out the fax form completely and print with “F11”
If an e-mail address is indicated on the fax form, SCN coding will be sent via e-mail. If a fax number is indicated on the fax form, SCN coding data will be sent via fax.
Before sending the fax form to the Star Diagnosis Help Desk, the appropriate control unit must be added in VeDoc to the vehicle equipment list.
After you open VeDoc, start the program by clicking on “Start”

Then enter the VIN in the “Search” field

Once the vehicle has been found in the system (the VIN will be shown in the top right), go to the “Codes” field

Under “Add”, the installation code “ED5” (parameterizable special module) is added to the equipment list

Print out and send the fax form to the indicated Star Diagnosis Help Desk fax number.

Perform SCN coding after you receive the coding data Please enter the coding string line by line
In the MB STAR DAS (Diagnosis Assistance System), select the menu item “Step 2: perform SCN coding”. Continue with “F3”.
Select keyboard entry with “F4”
Enter the SCN coding data in DAS manually
Switch the ignition on and off (Depends on control unit, see specification in DAS)
Print out the order log with “F11” and enclose with the repair order
